New York, N.Y. (April 9, 2026) — The Hudson River Foundation has released its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting key initiatives and impacts across our programs supporting research, restoration, and engagement throughout the Hudson River, estuary, and watershed.
Highlights include:
Providing funding to reveal new insights that will help inform improved protections for Atlantic and shortnose sturgeon, a Hudson River icon on the endangered species list.
Working with grantees to conduct monitoring that helps us better understand the Hudson River’s food web and fisheries from Lake Champlain to the Battery.
Engaging communities to initiate enhancements to shoreline access and habitats along the Harlem River.
Bringing together hundreds of stakeholders to renew the NY-NJ Harbor & Estuary Program’s Action Agenda—an essential guide for restoration and management of the Lower Estuary over the next decade.
Launching an innovative new effort that brings together social scientists and community members to co-develop projects focused on climate resilience and improving understanding of how people value and utilize natural resources along our shorelines.
